Today we are releasing a new look and a new way of moving around FlowSentry. Compliance teams spend long days in the product, often under deadline pressure, so we rebuilt the frame around three goals: get to the right page in a keystroke, see what is waiting for you without hunting, and keep the screen quiet until something is genuinely risky.
What's new
An icon rail with flyouts
The left edge of the screen now holds an icon rail with one icon per module: Home, Work, Monitoring, Customers, Screening, Reporting, Insight, Data and Admin. Select an icon and a flyout opens with that module's pages, each with a one-line description of what it is for. If you prefer a classic sidebar, Pin the flyout and it stays open. Your browser remembers the choice.
A command palette
Press Ctrl+K on Windows or Linux, ⌘K on a Mac, or / when you are not typing in a field. The Search or jump to box takes part of a page name ("kyc", "rules"), an action ("create rule"), or a customer, account, case or rule reference. Press Enter on free text to open full search at /search.
Breadcrumbs and a calmer app bar
The app bar now shows breadcrumbs (module › page), so you always know where you are. The notifications bell lists Waiting for you: the real four-eyes items you are allowed to approve, from every module, with a link to Open the approvals inbox. Nothing in the bell is decorative; if it shows a count, someone is waiting for your decision.
Select your name to open the user menu. It shows your roles as badges and holds Security & MFA, Passkeys, Theme and Sign out.
Light, dark and system themes
Choose Light, Dark or System from the user menu. The dark theme is designed, not inverted: colours, contrast and severity badges were tuned for each theme separately, so a High severity badge means the same thing at a glance in both. The choice is kept per browser.
Consistent detail pages
Cases, customers, rules, screening hits, ingestion runs, sources and onboarding applications now open the same way: a header with the name, identifier, key facts, status and risk badges and the primary action, followed by tabs.
Why it matters
Calm by default, loud only for risk
The interface is now neutral. Colour is reserved for meaning: severity and risk colours appear only where they carry risk information, never as decoration. When something on screen is red, it deserves your attention.
One primary action per view
Each page has one main action, placed consistently. Everything else is a secondary button or a link. This makes it easier to see what the page expects of you, and harder to press the wrong thing.
Navigation driven by permissions
The rail, flyouts and command palette are built from the same permission checks that each page and the server enforce. A page your role cannot open never appears anywhere, so new colleagues see a workspace sized to their job. Every action is still checked again on the server when you take it.
Accessible to everyone
The new frame targets WCAG 2.2 AA. Contrast meets AA in both themes, every interactive element shows a focus ring, the rail, flyouts, palette, tabs, menus, drawers and dialogs are fully keyboard operable, Esc closes overlays, and a Skip to main content link sits at the top of every page. Motion is short and stops if your operating system asks for reduced motion.
How to try it
- Sign in and look at the rail. Select Work to see its flyout, then Pin it.
- Press Ctrl+K (or ⌘K), type "rules" and press Enter.
- Select the notifications bell to see what is waiting for you.
- Open the user menu and switch Theme to Dark.
- Open Ask Sentry with Ctrl+J (or ⌘J) from any page.
What stays the same
Your data, your roles and your controls are unchanged. Maker-checker, step-up and reason capture work exactly as before and keep their dedicated screens. Successful actions confirm with a short message; a problem that blocks an action stays next to the form so you can fix it.
Tip: The full list of shortcuts is in the keyboard shortcuts reference.
